End User License Agreement
Effective 2026-10-20
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is between you and Alexandru Grecu, doing business as StreamNotch (“we”), and covers the StreamNotch app for macOS (“the Software”). By installing or using the Software you agree to this EULA. If you don’t agree, don’t install or use it. Buying StreamNotch and using streamnotch.com are covered by the Terms of Service.
1. License
When you buy a license, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on up to 3 Macs you use at the same time, for personal or work purposes. The Software is licensed, not sold.
2. Activation and license checks
- The Software asks for your license key once on each Mac and registers that Mac with Polar, our licensing provider.
- It checks the license with Polar occasionally and keeps working offline between checks. A temporary outage of Polar or your internet connection won’t lock you out.
- You can free a slot by choosing Deactivate this Mac in the Software or by removing a Mac in the customer portal.
- A refunded, charged-back or revoked license stops working at the next check.
3. Updates
Your license includes every 1.x update. The Software checks streamnotch.com for updates and downloads them from GitHub. A future major version may be offered as a paid upgrade; the version you bought keeps working.
4. Restrictions
You may not:
- share, sell, rent, publish or sublicense the Software or your license key;
- remove, bypass or tamper with activation, license checks or update signatures;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the Software, except where the law expressly allows it;
- remove copyright notices or branding from the Software.
5. Your data
Your settings, session reports and markers stay on your Mac, and you own them. The Privacy Policy explains what the Software sends and to whom. You are responsible for backing up your recordings.
6. Third-party software and services
The Software works with OBS Studio, Twitch and YouTube, which are provided by third parties under their own terms. We don’t control them, and features that depend on them may change when they change.
7. Ownership
We and our licensors keep all rights, title and interest in the Software, including its code, design and the StreamNotch name and logo.
8. Termination
This EULA lasts until it ends. It ends automatically if you materially breach it or if your payment is refunded or charged back. When it ends, stop using the Software and delete it. Sections 7, 9, 10 and 11 survive termination.
9. Disclaimer
Apart from the rights you have by law, the Software is provided “as is”, without other warranties, including that it will detect every problem, run without errors or work with every version of macOS or OBS.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost or corrupted recordings, missed streams, lost revenue or any indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license. This doesn’t limit liability that can’t be limited by law.
11. Governing law
This EULA is governed by Romanian law. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of habitual residence still apply, including your right to bring a claim in your local courts.
12. Changes
We may update this EULA for future versions of the Software. The terms that applied when you installed a version keep applying to that version.
